Spain threatens Italy with retaliation over Schengen suspension after Ceuta migrant crossings

Spain has warned Italy it will face retaliation if Rome does not lift emergency border controls imposed after mass crossings at Ceuta, the Spanish enclave on the North African coast. The treaty does not resolve that ambiguity, and neither does the Commission.
