Who is responsible

Crossbencher Media Ltd is the data controller. For privacy questions, access requests or deletion requests, email privacy@crossbencher.co.uk.

Accounts and membership

We keep the email address, display name, membership status and security records needed to operate your account. Passwords are stored only as secure hashes. Stripe handles payments; Crossbencher does not receive or store your card number. We process this information to provide the account or membership you asked for.

Participation

If you complete the four-line assessment while signed in, we store your answers and line positions. If you vote on a debate Bench, we store the vote and a snapshot of those positions so the published breakdown remains accurate. Signed-in game scores and streaks may also be recorded. We use this information only to provide those features and aggregate results.

Founding list

If you join the founding-member waiting list, we keep the details and consent time needed to contact you about that offer. A founding member's name appears publicly only when that member has chosen to be named.

Cookies and measurement

Strictly necessary cookies keep members and operators signed in. We use cookieless, aggregate traffic measurement to understand which pages are used. We do not sell personal data, run behavioural advertising or let advertisers build profiles of readers.

Retention and your rights

Account and participation data is kept while the account is active and for the limited period needed for legal, security and accounting obligations. You can ask for a copy, correction, restriction or deletion of your information. We respond within one month. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
