Two close aides to Nigel Farage have been suspended as Reform's spring conference closes under the shadow of a widening donations inquiry. The suspensions come as the party faces questions over undisclosed contributions, with the BBC reporting the probe is expected to expand beyond the initial cases.

The Guardian and the Independent both carry live coverage of the final conference day, noting protests outside the venue and what insiders are calling a shift in internal approach. GB News reports Robert Jenrick, speaking at the conference, was pressed on the scandal and attempted to move discussion forward, saying "we've moved on" - though the outlet notes he was "shut down" in the exchange. The Daily Mail says the suspensions affected figures close to Farage personally.

The machinery here is the question every insurgent party faces: the line between a donor and a director. Reform entered Parliament last year as the party without ties; it now has ties, and those ties are being tested under the statutory disclosure regime every Westminster party lives within. The suspensions are not admissions - they are the thing you do when the inquiry is still moving and you need the space to say you acted. Whether that space holds depends on what the inquiry finds, not what the party says today.

The Electoral Commission will either widen the investigation or close it. The conference pledges - including the tax threshold rise published separately - will be remembered or forgotten based on that answer, not on the speech that delivered them.
