A new poll shows the Conservative Party moving ahead of Reform UK for the first time since Kemi Badenoch became leader, pushing Nigel Farage's party into third place. The Express reports the poll as a "stunning boost" ahead of speculation about an early general election.

The shift comes as the Prime Minister faces his first extended Parliamentary session since taking office in late July. Multiple outlets note Andy Burnham used his first Commons speech as Prime Minister to attack both Margaret Thatcher and Brexit - the Sun and Express both calling the focus "stuck in the past".

The timing is awkward. GB News reports that Burnham blamed Brexit for low growth just hours after Labour ministers praised a new trade deal only possible outside the European Union. The contradiction sits in the record now: a government crediting Brexit for one outcome while blaming it for another, on the same day.

Meanwhile, Keir Starmer's decision to resign his Holborn and St Pancras seat triggers a by-election Reform believes it can contest. GB News carries Farage's assessment of the seat's prospects. Whether Reform's poll slip changes that calculation is the next question - and whether Badenoch's momentum holds past a single survey.
